Battery – Distance, Options & Price

What is the total distance on a single charge?

Distance will depend on how and where you ride. For example, the rider that rides on high assistance through mountainous landscapes will experience less distance than the rider that rides moderate terrain in the city on the low assist.

This also depends on the battery option. See Below:

– The total distance on the stock 48V Samsung Li-ion 14.5Ah battery is 40-45 Kilometers minimum on a single charge. Riders can expect to ride an additional 10-20 Kilometers of downhill riding on average per trip, giving a total of 40-60 Kilometers per charge.

– The total distance on the stock 48V Samsung Li-ion 17.5Ah battery is 60-65 Kilometers minimum on a single charge. Riders can expect to ride an additional 15-25 Kilometers of downhill riding on average per trip, giving a total of 60-85 Kilometers per charge.

– The total distance on the stock 48V Samsung Li-ion 21.5Ah battery is 70-75 Kilometers minimum on a single charge. Riders can expect to ride an additional 20-30 Kilometers of downhill riding on average per trip, giving a total of 70-100 Kilometers per charge.
How much does it cost to upgrade to a higher amp battery?
When upgrading from the 48V Li-ion Samsung 14.5Ah to the 48V Li-ion Samsung 17.5Ah it will cost $150.
When upgrading from the 48V Li-ion Samsung 14.5Ah to the 48V Li-ion Samsung 21.5Ah it will cost $200.
When upgrading from the 48V Li-ion Samsung 17.5Ah to the 48V Li-ion Samsung 21.5Ah it will cost $75.

When should I charge my battery?

Charge the battery after every ride no matter how short.

Should I take my battery off the charger when it is done?

Yes, it is best to disconnect the charger when finished, as in theory, long periods of time on the charger can confuse the batteries cells. This is a long term effect and is not noticeable until later in the batteries life.

How long will my battery live?

With proper care, batteries will last 4-5 years for an average rider. This is roughly the same as 4,000-5,000 KM in riding.
